Review Process

The submitted manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and not considered for publication elsewhere at the time of submission to GJEM.

The manuscripts submitted to GJEM for possible publication are refereed in a double-blind review process by at least two international reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.

The review process consists two levels.

First Level

Submitted manuscripts are initially reviewed by the editors for suitability and conformity with GJEM author submission guidelines. The editors may reject the manuscript due to the topic not fitting the scope of the GJEM publishing areas, or it is explicitly of low scientific or language quality. Papers are accepted after peer-reviewed manuscripts undergo English language editing. If authors consider their manuscripts would benefit from editing at an earlier stage, they may use our English Language Editing Services. If authors already used an alternative service that provides an editing confirmation certificate, please send a copy to the Editorial Office.

Second Level

Submitted manuscripts are scanned for plagiarism, and if acceptable, are sent to two independent reviewers within the topic area to be reviewed. Referees are required to classify the manuscript as: accept manuscript as it is; amend the manuscript with minor revision; resubmit the manuscript after major revision; reject manuscript.

The authors will receive the review reports and revise the manuscript based on the reviewers’ recommendations. Finally, the manuscript is certified by the statistical editor and language editor for consistency and accuracy.
